Career progression
At Athena Care Homes you'll often hear stories of team members working their way up through the organisation. One of our current Home Managers began her career at her home as a Housekeeper, and similarly, one of our Hospitality Service Managers started as a Receptionist.
Career progression is something that we feel very passionately about. Regardless of job role within the company we have an accredited, fully funded, programme to support you to achieve a qualification whilst working. Our programme begins with L2 and is a brilliant starting point to work your way up to L7 Masters Degree Apprenticeship.

Jane - Goodwins Hall - NVQ Level 3 in Business Admin
Why did you want to complete your NVQ?
I have decided to do the apprenticeship to update my knowledge, improve my skills and gain a qualification at the end of it.
What's your role at Athena and what attracted you to the company?
I joined Goodwins in January 2022 having previously worked for a different care home in South Yorkshire.
Married for 34 years with 2 daughters and 4 gorgeous grandsons. We relocated to Norfolk for a more relaxed life by the sea (although we have a more active social life than before) I enjoy lots of visits and quality time with my family and friends.
Tia - Avocet Court - NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care
Why did you want to complete your NVQ?
I wanted to do my NVQ to progress in my job role and hopefully, one day in the future, become a registered nurse.
What's your role at Athena and what attracted you to the company?
I have been working at Avocet Court as a Carer since February 2022 and I'm really excited to be doing by Level 2 NVQ!
